Promotion details

 (Enclosure to Circular Letter No.PAD/5/ 17 /2011 dated 18/05/2011)

Instructions and other details :-

1.    All the chances should be utilized on a consecutive basis. If an employee, even after giving consent letter, fails to appear for the written test, he / she will forego one chance under the group. However, the Management will have the discretion to condone such absence at the written test in deserving circumstances (Refer Staff Circular No.71 of 1996 dated the 25th October 1996).
2.    No employee will be permitted to take the written test in the same year under Group-A and Group-B, even if he/she is eligible under both the groups. However, eligible employees may exercise their option under Group-B, if they so choose in which case, they will not be permitted to take the test under Group-A.
3.    Employees selected earlier under any group but who did not accept the promotion under that group, cannot appear for written test and interview under the same group.
4.    Employees, who have accepted the promotion under a group will not be permitted to seek reversion under any circumstance.
5.    In the case of employees against whom disciplinary proceedings are initiated / in progress, the sealed cover vacancy procedure as laid down in Staff Circular No.77 of 1983 dated the 15th June 1983 will be followed :-
                  (i)  The cases of employees against whom disciplinary proceedings have been concluded also will be considered on merits, subject to the restrictions laid down in the Staff Circular No.77 of 1983 dated the 15th June 1983.
